Will McCarthy makes the move to Noarlunga. 

The South Adelaide Football Club is excited to announce the signing of promising young talent, Will McCarthy, for the 2025 Hostplus SANFL League season.

Standing at 191 cm, McCarthy is a versatile midfielder who showcased his abilities with the Murray Bushrangers during the 2024 Coates Talent League season, where he averaged 15 disposals and 2 tackles per game.

Originally from the Wangaratta Rovers, McCarthy brings a mix of size, skill, and potential to the Panthers.

Known for his precise ball use and his classy left foot, he will offer the Panthers with a range of options as he continues to refine his game.

Senior Coach Jarrad Wright is eager to oversee McCarthy’s development, impressed by the youngster’s trajectory so far.

"Will is a quality footballer in the making, at just 18 years old he is developing rapidly and played senior football across HB for Wangarrata Rovers, including playing in their 2024 premiership in the Ovens & Murray Football League." Said Wright

"He is a strong, competitive and clean player that can provide both intercept and run out of the back half using a nice left foot."

"Will was able to perform consistently at Senior level in the Ovens & Murray competition at such a young age which holds him in good sted to transition in to SANFL league footy." 

"We are really excited to see Will develop his football further at South Adelaide, and we welcome him into the Panther family." 

McCarthy has already begun training with the squad and is set to make the move to South Australia after Christmas.
