Welcome Tom Beaumont
The Panthers Welcome Tom Beaumont.
The South Adelaide Football Club is delighted to announce the inclusion of Tasmanian talent, Tom Beaumont, for the upcoming 2024 Hostplus SANFL League Season.
The 19-year-old inside midfielder showcased his skills with the Tasmanian Devils in the Coates Talent, boasting just over 22 disposals per game.
Standing tall at 186cm, this promising inside midfielder will bring added strength and dynamism around the ball, amplifying his impact as he continues to refine his game.
When questioned about his choice to join the Panthers, Beaumont emphasised the formidable nature of the SANFL Competition, expressing his belief that South Adelaide is the ideal environment for his developmental journey.
"It’s pretty well known back home that the SANFL is the highest quality competition outside of the AFL, so when I had the opportunity pre Christmas to come over to train and meet the boys I was super pumped and they all made me feel welcome and I knew this was going to be a place I would be happy and improve myself and my footy." said Tom Beaumont.
He added
"The quality of footy that will be played and I can grow to be apart of is something I’m really looking forward too. Compared to Tassie I think the crowds and sheer number of supporters will be a big difference, having a thousand or more to play in front of is really exciting."
When asked about his expectations for 2024, Beaumont expressed eagerness to evolve in all aspects of his game and relish the journey.
"For me 2024 is going to be a massive learning curve! Moving away from home starting working a lot more and playing footy more seriously will all lead to massive learnings. But making sure I stay in the moment as it’s going to be a hell of a ride and I want to enjoy it all. So I’m looking forward to the ups the downs and especially playing some high quality footy with the Panthers."
Senior Coach Jarrad Wright is looking forward to what Beaumont will bring to the side.
"Tom is an inside contested player who will develop into a strong SANFL midfielder in future." Said Senior Coach Jarrad Wright.
"He compliments his game with his Footy IQ and kicking execution and has shown promising ability to play forward and adapt in multiple roles."
"Last year he was Captain of Tassie Devils in the U18 NAB league and also School Captain at Launceston Grammar, Tom has had an immediate influence in the program with his high Footy IQ & leadership qualities."
"We welcome Tom into the Panther Family and its great to see immerse himself into the clubs culture and connecting to the group seamlessly."
