South Adelaide's Under 18s concluded their preseason with a hard-fought 26-point victory over Central District at My Money House Oval on Sunday afternoon.

Playing our final trial game of the preseason, the Panthers Under 18s found themselves in a battle with the Bulldogs all afternoon, playing a tight contest until we were able to wrestle control of the match in the final term.

Centrals midfielders workrate and competitiveness was impressive for most of the afternoon. Thankfully, the play from our back six was outstanding and they prevented the Bulldogs midfield control converting into scores against us.

However, when we were able to get the ball in good areas in our front half we scored often.

We just seemed a little bit off our usual hungry appetite for the inside contested ball battles that are so important to winning games.

However, to the players credit they were able to grind out a tough win in what was a solid hit out leading into the season.

The Panthers Under 18s get their season proper underway this Saturday, April 8 at 2:10pm against West Adelaide at Hickinbotham Oval.
