The South Adelaide Under-18s storm home to record a 43-point win over Norwood at Flinders University Stadium.
It took some time for South Adelaide to shake off the Redlegs, but when it came it happened spectacularly as the Panthers booted ten second-half goals to break away with the win, 15.10 (100) to 9.3 (57).
Impressive up forward for the Panthers were Jack Delean and Jaiden Magor who each recorded four goals, while Luke Mitton finished with 29 disposals and 7 marks.
Heading into Saturday's match with their spot in the top four far from guaranteed; the Panthers sprang into action early with the opening two goals of the game.
However, the Redlegs managed to claw themselves back into the match during the latter stages of the opening term and by quarter time, just 2 points were all that separated the Panthers from Norwood.
The second term saw Delean and Magor register the only majors for the Panthers but, and more importantly, the side managed to hold Norwood to just one goal to increase their halftime margin to two goals.
Around the ground, the Panthers found plenty of the ball through Isaac Birt, who collected 26 touches and 7 marks, and Angus Bradley, who gathered 29 disposals, 7 marks and 7 tackles.
South Adelaide, who would finish with double as many inside 50s as their opponent, began to break away from Norwood after halftime.
By the midpoint of the third term, the Panthers had already scored five unanswered goals. This saw the boys in the blue and white enter the final break holding a promising 29-point lead.
With a healthy buffer between them and Norwood, the Panthers took some time to break through during the final term; but once they did they quickly fed off the momentum.
During the final ten minutes of the match, the Panthers stormed home by kicking four unanswered goals to seal the impressive win, 15.10 (100) to 9.3 (57).
The South Adelaide Under-18s will look to continue their winning form when they face off against Glenelg at Flinders University Stadium on Saturday, 17 July, from 11:30am.
