Thank You Sam Overall
Sam Overall will hang up the boots after Sunday's Clash with the Magpies.
Overall advised the club that the match against Port Adelaide on Sunday will be his 114th and last Hostplus SANFL League match.
Having made his debut in Round 16, 2014 against the Eagles, Overall was the 1718th player to play League football for South Adelaide.
Wearing number 49, Overall was a key part of the Panthers deep finals run in 2014, kicking 5 goals across the three finals.
The Victor Harbor native continued to develop and played 11 games in 2015 and would go on to kick the most goals in 2020.
South Adelaide CEO Neill Sharpe thanked Sam for his service to the football club.
"We really appreciate Sam's efforts over the better part of a decade."
"Sam has been a really important part of the club, and to play 100 games of SANFL footy in this day and age is significant."
"We wish Sam all the best for what the future holds and look forward to seeing him up on the hill on game days"
Senior Coach Jarrad Wright said that Sam has left a really strong trademark on the football club.
"Sam has been a real spiritual leader for us over the last 5 years with the way he defends and competes"
"Every week Sam has given 100% effort and over the last three years he has been in the top 3 for forward 50 tackles which is a credit to his work rate"
"To put in 9 years to a SANFL program and our football club is a true credit to Sam as a person"
"We wish Sammy all the best for his next stage"
