Panthers fall to Norwood.

After a dominant showing in the Under-18s last contest a long rest has left the boys recharged, they faced off against Norwood in round 12.

In the first term the Under-18s were under siege with Jake Agnew being the only Panther to see a major go through.

Norwood would secure four minor scores, putting this contest into dispute early.

The squad would hunt late but inaccuracies cost the boys from mitigating the deficit. Leaving them down by 13-points.

It was an all-out barrage in the second quarter both squads firing on all cylinders.

Agnew being a major contributor up forward again in this term, getting two goals to sail through.

Ben Dittmar and Harry Saunders would also both kick their firsts in the term to help attempt their comeback.

Despite this Norwood were still unrelenting in their attack and would outdo the Panthers. Leaving the squad down by 19-points.

There was a glimmer in the squads’ eyes after this quarter, unfortunately the opposition would not let up.

Agnew would seal his goal kicking day off with a fourth and final major in this quarter, a testament to his work in this contest.

Norwood would let nothing else through beside a few minor scores while they would attack and extent their lead headed into the final term.

It was a tough term, and it would leave this contest in a difficult spot, the Panthers being down by 30-points.

With a quarter to go the squad gave it a red-hot crack. Punching the ball forward and getting the majors to start going through.

Saunders would kick his second while Cohen Shortridge and Elijah Luke would get their first of the day.

Luke would also end with the leading disposals at 21, all impactful in this game.

Despite this late effort it wasn’t enough as Norwood did the damage early leaving the Under-18s at a 17-point loss.

A tough pill to swallow after the break but the boys will be back against Sturt on Saturday the 6th of July at Flinders University Stadium in a 1:50pm timeslot.

The Panthers Dominate the Redlegs.

The last time the Under-16s laced up, we saw them dominate West Adelaide.

After a well-deserved rest, the boys were looking to do the same to Norwood in round 11.

In the first term, the boys were unstoppable, moving the ball well and holding off anything that was thrown at them.

Up forward, the boys slotted four majors to start the day. Zemes Pilot and Callan Hart each kicked one, while Harrison Davey kicked two.

The pressure was up, and the intent was clear. The backline was strong in this term, not letting anything through.

The quarter ended in the Panthers' favour by 24 points.

During the second term, some inaccuracies were seen around the sticks, but it was no matter as the boys were working hard both ways.

The intensity levels lifted from both sides, and the team to prevail was the Panthers, kicking two majors. Hunter Williams and Ashley Lamshed each kicked one.

Despite the inefficiency, it was all in the under-16s' control, ending the half up by 39 points.

It was a dominant showing to start and it continued into the third term.

Davey got it started for the squad with his third major within 30 seconds of the siren blowing.

Kodah Edwards followed this up not long after and finished the quarter with his second. He also led the disposals with 28 in this contest.

During the middle section of the quarter, the Panthers struggled to get forward, but they kept control most of the time.

One major snuck past the boys for the first time, but at this point of the contest, it was no matter and impressive to say the least.

The quarter ended with the Panthers leading by 54 points.

In the last term, the squad extended the lead even further and truly put Norwood away.

It was great to see the boys play with such confidence and use their skills on both sides of the ball.

Five majors went through. Kody Shortridge, Angus White, and Kai Clark each kicked one while Pilot kicked his second and third to truly ice this game.

A major shoutout goes to the boys down back as they were ruthless in this contest, making every 50/50 ball a battle.

The Under-16s put Norwood away by 83 points.

Their next contest will be against Sturt on Saturday, the 6th of July, at Flinders University Stadium at 11:00 am.
