A big second half propelled the Panthers to a 6-goal win.
The Under-18s were looking to build some momentum leading after a dominant win against North Adelaide in round 10.
Faced with West Adelaide in a Friday night clash the stakes were high.
Straight out the middle the ball found its way to Jake Agnew, in a great spot he’d kick the first major of the game.
Shortly after Dakota Sterzl was following this up with an impactful major.
During the first quarter it was looking smooth to start, moving the ball well off halfback especially, leading to some great play.
Ryan Borlace, Cohen Shortridge and Ben Dittmar all saw their first major go through in the latter half of the term.
It was close at the end of the term with the Under-18s taking a 12-point lead after their late surge.
In the second the squad seemingly went away from what was working and started to get found out a bit.
Westies doing well to mitigate the run and switch from down back, which was working so well.
Thomas Renshaw would secure the only two majors of the quarter while the opposition did the work and made it a challenge for the Under-18s.
Breaking down across the ground and leaving themselves down by 5-points at the end of the half.
Plenty of time still to play the boys bounced back in a big way during the third quarter, putting their foot down and applying immense pressure.
Benny Barrett, Oliver Goss, and Damien Dunn all found their first major in this term while Agnew and Cohen Shortridge were impactful with their second.
Shortridge would also end the game with a team high 27 disposals.
With that offensive surge a defensive stance was held, and it was empowering. Westies were unable to break through the wall and it impacted this contest in a major way.
It put the boys in a great spot at the end of the quarter and they’d be up by 22-points with one to go.
That being said the pressure was incredible, Barrett was a beast as he would end with a team high 12 tackles.
Mackenzie Darling was resolute down back with 6 intercept possessions.
Clay Shadforth and Borlace did well to get forward and kick one each, while Goss would sneak through two majors in the effort to put away West Adelaide.
Fortunately, they would take the win by 36-points off the back of some great defensive play and smooth transition football.
The Juniors now have a couple of weeks off and will face Norwood on Saturday the 29th at Norwood oval in an 11:00 am timeslot.

The Panthers Dominate the Bloods on Friday Night.
The Under-16s after coming off a good win against North Adelaide were looking to back it up against West Adelaide on Friday night, with the hope of getting another win on the board.
It started very well in the first term as the panthers were moving the ball with pace. Flowing up forward easily and hitting the scoreboard in the process.
Kody Shortridge and Eli White getting it started with their majors while Angus White chipped away at the opposition late with two majors in swift succession.
Needless to say, it was working for the Under-16s early as they got up by 20-points headed into the second term.
With the whole squad working the way they were in the first it was looking like the Panthers were going to put their opposition away in this contest.
Harrison Davey was unstoppable early in the second as he’d kick three majors before the eight-minute mark, shrugging his defenders with ease and making it look easy.
The backline was great at steering the ship for the squad, making good use of the switch, and playing an effective game style.
The two Kai's were causing headaches for the West Adelaide forwards, with Kai Clarke finishing with 9 Intercept Possessions, and Kai Sharpe with 5 Intercept Possession and 4 tackles.
Kody Shortridge slotted his second late alongside Callan Hart who made a statement with his first major.
At half time the boys were firmly in the drivers seat up by 39-points and looking the goods.
The narrative was the same in the third as the boys didn’t look like slowing up, strong down back, slick through the middle and damaging up forward.
Brodie Bretones, Skipper Kodah Edwards, Eli White, and Harrison Davey slotted a major each in the term as well as Angus White who secured a couple, it was a shared effort and around goal the Under-16s were unstoppable.
That being said all across the ground the boys were adamant on keeping the pressure up, Tyler Lock was great in this action, leading the squad with 5 tackles.
Anything Westies threw at the squad was stopped in its tracks during this quarter especially and they head into the fourth up by 63-points.
With nothing to lose the boys kept it up until the final siren and made the opposition look unable to do a thing.
Shortridge would see his fourth go through after he kicked two goals in the term. While Brodie Bretones, Hart, Cain Florance, and Clayton True all secured one, putting this game to bed without a shadow of a doubt.
The Under-16s would put West Adelaide away by 101-points an absolute masterclass.
The Juniors now have a couple of weeks off and will face Norwood on Saturday the 29th at Norwood oval in an 1:30 pm timeslot.
