The Panthers Pounce on the Roosters
The Under-18s were looking to get back in the winner’s column against North Adelaide in Round 10.
Phoenix Hargrave took home the Sammy D Medal after a stella performance.
In the first quarter, it was very competitive, with both sides firing and hitting the contest with passion.
Benny Barrett got the party started early with his first 30 seconds in. Setting the tone and getting the boys up.
It was clean to start, and this work would be followed by Jake Agnew shortly after, proving the structure was working very well.
North would make it interesting late in the quarter and keep their noses right in it.
Thomas Renshaw and Hargrave would relieve the pressure at different points in the term with their majors, doing well to transition from the middle.
Having a 13-point lead after one quarter wasn’t enough for the Under-18s, they’d build with intent the rest of the contest.
Agnew started the second quarter hot, firing early with his second.
It would become congested and both sides struggled to operate freely.
Sid Draper was elite in the contest, especially this quarter. He’d end up on 31 disposals.
While the boys were struggling on the scoreboard it was still positive to see the strong link up down back.
Eventually, Benjamin Dittmar and Dakota Sterzl would score their majors in quick succession to extend the lead.
By the end of the quarter, the Under-18s had a 27-point lead and were looking crafty in the process.
The second half is where the boys would put the opposition to bed. Slotting 6 majors and holding North to only 2, an impressive effort to say the least.
Barrett once again kicking one 30 seconds into the quarter getting the boys rallied behind him.
Zebadiah Sinclair kicked his first, Agnew would kick his third, Cohen Shortridge with his first and second and Hargrave’s second would all impact the contest and make it unreachable for the opposition.
It was classy football, and it was clear the Under-18s were hungry for a win.
With a 50-point lead and a quarter to go, nothing was getting in the Panther’s way.
Hargrave was next level, kicking two more majors and ending his total with 4, as well as 13 marks, showing off his strong hands and kicking skills in impressive fashion.
It was a lockdown across the ground with how strong the boys were in the air and on the deck, making it a battle until the very end.
Sinclair would secure his second while Jacob McGarry would get his first to make this game a blowout.
The Under-18s taking this one out by 72-points. Their next contest coming against West Adelaide on Friday the 7th of June at Hisense Stadium in a 7:20pm timeslot.

The Panthers Pounce on the Roosters
After a tough loss in Round 8 against Sturt, with a longer rest under their belt, the Under-16s were looking to put North Adelaide to the sword in Round 9.
The first term started well for the boys, especially Kody Shortridge, he’d line up two majors early, giving the side a healthy momentum starter.
It would slow up and the attacking lanes the boys were operating through would dry up.
The backline has to be commended in this term as they were locked in, making sure North couldn’t break through in major fashion.
Brodie Bretones would reply to the only North Adelaide major, not letting them finish the term strong.
With a 12-point lead to start, it was looking positive for the boys.
In the second quarter, it was a battle on the offensive side of the ball, both sides firing away.
Zemes Holmes and Hudson Boal would get the ball rolling with their majors, putting their footwork to good use and making it look easy in the process.
Seemingly looking in charge at the start of this term, locking up the opposition and mitigating their run.
Kodah Edwards would slot his first around the halfway mark of the contest to give the boys a healthy lead.
It would unravel after this point, as North would fire away, bringing this game back into contention. Leaving the Under-16s up by 8-points.
With the game now close, the boys really had to rally together. It was looking scary to start as the boys struggled to advance the ball, but the heart of this side shone though as they finished strong.
Harrison Davey and Angus White doing well to kick their first of the day while Edwards was strong and proved his worth after slotting his second.
Firmly taking the game back in their hands and putting themselves back up by 13-points.
With a quarter left, it was looking like a close battle, but the boys rolled through nicely to finish.
Cain Florance would dominate in this term with his two majors and his eventual 14 marks, everything sticking for him.
North were unable to do anything in this quarter, as the defensive pressure was too strong.
Holmes would seal the deal with his second major and push the boys over the finish line.
Archie Van Dyk would lead disposal getters with 29, doing so with class and precision.
The 31-point win was a great way to re-bound and get back on track. Their next contest is against West Adelaide on Friday the 7th of June at Hisense Stadium in a 5:00pm timeslot.
