South Adelaide Announce Partnership
The South Adelaide Football Club announce new partnership with the Woods Panthers Netball Club.
The South Adelaide Football Club is excited to announce that from 2021 the Woods Panthers Netball Club will be reborn in the famous blue and white as the South Adelaide Netball Club and establish a new partnership.
The Woods Panthers Netball Club compete in the Netball SA Premier League, Adelaide Metropolitan Netball Division (AMND) and the Southern United Netball Association (SUNA) competitions.
Originally formed as a merger from the Blackwood District Netball Club and the South Adelaide Panthers Netball Club, Woods Panthers were born in 1999 but it would not be until 2002 that the Woods Panthers would join the state league competition.
"This is an exciting new chapter for the South Adelaide Football Club and provides the opportunity for us to further enhance our community base at Flinders University Stadium," said South Adelaide CEO Neill Sharpe.
"Over the past few years our club has grown with the introduction of female football, and this is the next step to establish elite sporting programs in football and netball throughout the southern suburbs.
"South Adelaide is proud to have a place at the forefront of one of the biggest female sports in the country, and it is going to be great to welcome everyone from the South Adelaide Netball Club."

South Adelaide Netball Club President Rohan Davison-Bennett says the club is incredibly excited about the partnership and the future for the South Adelaide Netball Club.
"We are in a fast changing sporting environment where you need to be always looking for ways to gain a competitive edge."

"The Club felt it can benefit greatly as the only southern-based Premier League netball club by aligning with South Adelaide Football Club to attract a new breed of members, players, supporters, and sponsors alike."
"The partnership presents so many opportunities including the potential for cross-training and enhanced player and coach development."
Both clubs are currently in talks with the state government and the City of Onkaparinga around the possibility of establishing a new home for the South Adelaide Panthers Netball Club at Flinders University Stadium.
The South Adelaide Panthers Netball Club will hit the court for the first time in 2021.
