A slow start sees South Adelaide's Reserves as no match for the top placed Bloods, going down by 48 points at City Mazda Stadium on Sunday.
The Panthers managed just two behinds in the first quarter while the home side piled on four goals to set up the 13.13 (91) to 6.7 (43) defeat.
However, South Adelaide did match the ladder leaders in terms of stats; collecting more marks (85 to Wests 65), tackles (55 to Wests 51) and disposals (287 to 284).
While narrowly losing the clearances (41 to Wests 43), hit outs (36 to Wests 40) and inside 50s (37 to Wests 42).
However, the Panthers managed a scoring accuracy of just 46% for the match, with the first South goal coming from Jesse McKinnon in the second minute of the second quarter.
McKinnon would go on to gather 19 disposals, two marks, four tackles and three clearances in Souths defeat.
Sam Whitbread was also busy around the ground; finishing with 22 disposals, seven tackles and eight marks.
The Panthers did manage to kick three goals in a row midway through the second quarter through Jackson Elmes, Thomas Whittlesea and Aiden Baker.
However, West Adelaide would go on to kick the first three goals of the third quarter before Tyler Davies managed his first of the day.
Luke Bogle finished the match with 18 disposals, six tackles and four marks while Tate Coleman gathered 18 disposals, seven marks and four rebound 50s for the Panthers.
The Panthers now face Sturt at Flinders University Stadium on Sunday, July 7 from 11:30 am.
