The South Adelaide reserves fell to Norwood in a hard fought 19-point loss at Flinders University Stadium on Monday.
The Panthers started strong, heading into quarter time with a 3.4 (22) to 2.1 (13) point lead.
However, South Adelaide would struggle to get much momentum going over the next three quarters, falling to a 9.7 (61) to 11.14 (80) defeat.
James Grimley and Benjamin Ryan combined to give the Panthers two goals in 3 minutes midway through the first quarter. However, Norwood would return with two of their own goals through Barnett and Grove.
Making his return was Anthony Biemans who would kick the final goal of the first quarter. He would go on to finish the match with 14 disposals, four marks, and two goals.
Norwood kicked the first two goals of the second quarter before the Panthers could steady with Grimley kicking his second.
Jesse Moffa was busy around the ground, totaling 21 disposals, ten marks, and four tackles.
However, Norwood would respond with two more goals in a row before Biemans could kick his second of the game late in the first half.
Down by 11 points, the Panthers had some work to do in the second half. A goal by Joel Beeche just four minutes into the third quarter began a shoot out between the two sides.
Norwood's Jed Spence would reply for the visitors, only for Ryan to respond with his second for the game. Henry Crawford would strike late in the third quarter for Norwood to put Souths deficit back to 11-points at the final change.
Nathan Beenham would kick truly just one and a half minutes into the last quarter. However, the Redlegs would go on to kick two in a row before Jackson Elmes could reply with a late goal but it wasn't enough for the win.
Job Colwell finished the game strong, collecting 27 disposals, nine marks, and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Jesse Mckinnon was once again impressive, finishing with 26 disposals, four marks, and nine clearances.
