Sunday sees the South Adelaide Reserves fall to the ladder-leading Tigers by 64 points at Flinders University Stadium.
Heading into the match it looked like there was only one clear winner as the bottom-placed Panthers clashed with the undefeated Tigers, but from the first bounce the Panthers proved to be no easy-beat but ultimately the Tigers managed to take control, 6.11 (47) to 17.9 (111).
Fraser Turner was a standout for the Panthers with 29 touches and 7 marks, while Ben Sawford finished with 28 disposals and 13 clearances. Tate Coleman was also strong, finishing with 24 disposals and 5 marks.
The opening term showed that the Panthers weren't going to be easily pushed aside as the side peppered the goals during the opening minutes. However, some wayward kicking meant the boys didn't get rewarded fully as they booted 1.4 (10) during just the first eight minutes of the match.
Despite the difference in ladder position, there was nothing to separate the two sides at the first break with the scores tied at 19 apiece.
However, the Tigers flexed their muscles during the second term by booting five goals to one, and from here the undefeated Tigers ran away with the win.
Yet despite the end result, the boys certainly didn't stop trying, this was perhaps best shown during the third term when Aaron Douglass took on and bet two opponents: stopping an almost certain goal in the process.
The Panthers will now look to claim their second win of the season when they face off against Central District at Flinders University Stadium on Saturday, 29 May, from 11:30am.
