South Adelaide's Under-18s remain undefeated after claiming a 13.11 (89) to 12.6 (78) win over Central District at Hickinbotham Oval on Saturday afternoon.
The boys came off the bye in good shape and put on an explosive first quarter with the wind on Saturday against an improving Centrals team.
The team controlled field position and had 19 forward 50 entries in the first term.
However, some poor kicking for goal meant the advantage of the wind was not fully capitalised on.
In the second quarter, the Bulldogs returned the favour, dominating the midfield and inside 50s and also kicked multiple goals.
The third quarter was very disappointing. Centrals played some very inspiring footy and showed us how to play.
Centrals took a lead into the last quarter and it was up to us to now try and regain control of the midfield and score heavily to win.
To the players credit they fought back hard when it was needed most, were able to manage the momentum well and took control of the centre square thanks to our ruckman Cam McGree and midfielder Luke Bogle.
We kicked 6.0 to 3.0 in the final term to eventually run out nine-point victors.
It was a hard way to win a game of footy.
We suffered a few injuries during the game as well that will most likely see a few players miss some weeks.
However, that will open opportunities for others to step up on the track this week and stake their claim for a spot.
Congratulations to first gamer Jackson Riddle.
