The Under 16s get just fall short unable to get over the line while the Under 18s get the points over Glenelg in spectacular fashion.

The South Adelaide Under-18s looked dominant in round 6 against West Adelaide, looking at round 7 Glenelg were on the plate, unaware of the onslaught that was about to transpire.

In the first quarter South started strong adding four major scores all from unique goal scorers.

Ayden Duke got the party started as he would unleash from 50-metres out as his set shot was pure.

With plenty of time between major scores it was clear that South were setting up for a big day as they were looking the goods around the stoppages and in the middle.

Jay Chapman, Cohen Shortridge and Dakota Sterzl would all contribute late with a collection of impressive snapping skills while on the run, a booming 45-metre great set shot and a spectacular shot of the tight angle as the siren would blow.

Glenelg while keeping up statistically were unable to get within scoring range as the South attack was too strong. In the second term this was no different.

The under-18s would contribute another four major scores as Glenelg were again unable to hit the scoreboard with any majors.

Phoenix Hargrave and Oliver Goss would each kick one in quick succession of each other. As the Glenelg defence would get reckless, giving away two free kicks in a strange passage which resulted in a 12-point play.

The midfield work was nothing short of spectacular as Sid Draper would continue to get plenty of the ball, ending with 27 disposals.

The quarter would end with Shortridge and Jack Delean kicking their second and first respectively.

It was a dominant showing in the first half as Glenelg were goalless while the Under-18s had a 54-point lead.

The third term was an absolute massacre as the Panthers would add another six major scores.

Three of these coming from Delean with Benny Barrett, Ryan Borlace and Thomas Schirmer all kicking their first of the contest.

It was pure dominance everywhere you looked whether it was down back in the middle or up forward, Glenelg were unable to do anything about it only adding one major in the term.

It was clear that it was going to be a massive margin by the end of the contest as Glenelg looked completely demoralised.

However, no one could have expected the final quarter to come.

The Panthers wanted more, knowing they could bury their opponent they added another seven major scores.

Barrett would kick another two giving him three for the contest. Delean would add another three giving him a season high 7 goals for the game.

Duke would secure his second as Shortridge would also add one finishing his day with three major scores.

It was a masterclass as South Adelaide had the opposition stunned.

By the end of it the Under-18s would get the 121-point win over Glenelg, which now sees them second as the race for the top four heats up.

The Under-18s are looking to keep up the good work in Round 8 against Sturt on Saturday the 13th at Flinders University Stadium.

In round 6 the Under-16s went down to a handy West Adelaide unit, looking at the match up against Glenelg in Round 7 it wasn’t going to be easy, plenty of work would be needed to get the job done.

In the first term it was all South Adelaide as the Under-16s put on an absolute show, kicking five major scores.

It was Eli White who got the ball rolling after he would stream off behind a pack near the attacking goal square and finish while being chased down.

Shortly after Noah Kliems Carlaw would secure his first of the contest after the panthers would go coast to coast leaving him with a wide-open run to the goals.

The train didn’t look like stopping as the Panther clearance was textbook, the ball streaming forward into the hands of Thomas Renshaw after he was pushed out of the contest from 30-metres out. The kick was grand, going straight through for a goal.

It was the defence that was proving to be too much for Glenelg early as the Under-16s were bringing it out of the defensive fifty incredibly well.

Leaving the Panthers with plenty of opportunities, as Kliems Carlaw would get on the end of a ball giving him a chance at his second late in the term. Getting on the move and finishing with ease.

Before the quarter would end the Under-16s would add another major score as the panthers would rebound out of the defensive half and switch towards an open Brock Grund, gathering quickly and running into an open goal.

The first quarter was dominant, and the work needed to stay at the rate it was sitting. However, in the second term it was the complete opposite of what transpired in the first.

Glenelg would come right back into the contest, kicking five major scores as South were unable to do any damage.

In the lapse it was clear Jesse Nye was doing all he could to get the back within scoring range, hitting contests hard and contributing 21 disposals.

After the rough second term there was only one point difference. The clearance work needed to be improved if the Under-16s were to get over the line.

In the third term the Panthers would take back the lead as two major scores would come late in the quarter.

First of these was of Nye’s boot as he would soccer it through after a contest in the goal square.

It was quickly followed by Cain Florance after he would take a great mark within range of the goal, kicking a much-needed set shot, seemingly putting the momentum back into souths hands.

In the fourth term it all came crashing down as Glenelg had the legs to add four more major scores while the Under-16s couldn’t add any goals in the quarter.

Despite the efforts of Florence and his 8 tackles, providing forward pressure it was too late.

Glenelg would walk away with the win in a tough loss for the Under-16s

Round 8 brings a new set of challenges as the Panthers will face Sturt on Saturday the 13th at Flinders University Stadium.
