Under-18s have a day out getting the bounce back win as the Under-16s can’t get the job done against Woodville-West Torrens.
Last week the Under-18s went down to Central Districts, meaning it was time for redemption this week against Woodville West-Torrens in a Good Friday matchup.
The boys were hungry and started the game strong kicking the first major score of the game within the first 2 minutes.
It would come off Ayden Duke’s boot after he was awarded the football from 40-metres out on the slight angle.
However, the Eagles would respond viciously kicking the next four goals before the quarter would close out.
Heading into the second down by 14 the Under-18s needed to lift before the game could get away from them.
The boys delivered kicking three goals in the second term, providing the much-needed response after a shaking first term.
Benny Barrett would start the run after he gathered the ball from a contested pack just above the goal square, finishing swiftly on the move.
Not long after Sebastian Oliver delivered as it was clear the Eagles were scared of a Panther run, as the defender passed it directly to him leaving him with an easy finish in front.
Some time passed before the next goal, but Phoenix Hargrave was starting to gain momentum finishing the game with 22 disposals.
Jack Delean delivered the last Panther goal of the term, after fumbling the mark deep in the pocket he followed up his mistakes, turned on the jets, collected the ground ball and finished around the body.
Down by 4 after the first half of footy the under-18s would take change in the third, kicking five unanswered goals.
Jack Delean started the surge with his second with a set shot from 20-metres out, putting the panthers up by 3.
Barrett provided the next and his second of the contest, after the quick clearance forward ended in his hands, dribbling the ball in off his snap.
Continuing the streak was Oliver Goss after his shifty movement got him through the defenders he was faced with a snap around the body and it was pure, flying through for his first.
With no intent to stop, Sebastian Oliver would kick his second after he was pushed in the back within scoring range. Finishing his work and doing so smoothly.
The impressive offensive flurry would be sealed off by Delean who slotted his third of the game in style.
On the run near the boundary line, he gathered and followed through with the finish on the tight angle.
The third term is often described as the Premiership Quarter and the Under-18s took this literally, as Woodville West-Torrens weren’t able to muster a comeback in the fourth.
Thomas Schirmer would kick the final goal for South Adelaide after a strong don't argue tied the knot on an immaculate performance.
The pressure provided all day got the boys over the line and it was Jake Agnew who got the most tackles for the team with 4.
The Under-18s will attempt to build off this victory against Glenelg on Saturday the 15th at home in what is set to be a belter.

Last week the under-16s weren’t able to get the job done against Central Districts, but a chance at redemption for the young Panthers was up for grabs.
Faced against Woodville West-Torrens in a good Friday showdown all eyes were set on the choccies.
A quick eagles goal early dampened the mood, but the boys would clap back swiftly as Thomas Simpson would gather the ball from a pack and run into an open goal, evening the scores.
South continued to apply pressure and saw the ball back forward 17 minutes into the first term.
It was Jacob McGarry’s time to shine going back with the flight and taking the mark over his defender in the goal square. With an easy finish in front of him the Panthers had a lead.
This would be short lived as the Eagles would go on to kick two late in the term putting them up heading into the second quarter.
Although it was a tight affair the boys needed a lift to get over the line as Woodville West-Torrens would open with another early goal.
It was Simpson who would get on the end of the next major score, securing his second of the game after taking a big mark in front and finishing just as well.
South would start to build momentum kicking the next two. First of these coming from Jesse Nye’s boot on the slight angle from 25 out.
Following this was Noah Kliems Carlaw who got the ball downfield, faced with a shot directly in front from 40 out, he’d kick though and secure the lead once again.
It was back and forth during the first half with Lucas Gordon building an impressive stat line ending on 20 disposals.
Eagles would come out swinging in the third term kicking the first two. South would respond with one of their own shortly after.
Going coast-to-coast the ball would end safely in Patrick Carman’s hands, gathering smoothly off the deck and quickly finishing on the run.
However, this is when the game would get away from the Under-16s with the Eagles kicking the next four across the end of the third and start of the fourth.
McGarry attempted to force a comeback early in the fourth after he confirmed his second goal of the game after his set shot sailed through, but it was too late.
Cameron Woods would kick the last goal of South’s game, taking an impressive grab over defenders and with time of the essence quickly playing on, sending it through.
