Central Districts prove to be a fierce opponent as both the Under-16s and Under-18s go down.
After the crushing defeat last week in the one-point loss to Norwood the Under-18s were wanting a chance at redemption.
Central Districts were the challengers of Round 2, and the boys wanted the win badly.
The Panthers pounced early as Jack Delean kicked the first two goals and set the tone for the boys to follow.
Benny Barrett followed suit and kicked Souths third major score of the quarter. Leaving Central goalless headed into the second term.
It seemed the Panthers could do no wrong as Thomas Schirmer impressively extended the lead even further kicking a goal within the first five minutes of the quarter.
But all good things come to an end as Central managed to hit the scoring column with two major scores.
After a series of behinds from both sides the term came to an end and the first half saw South Adelaide in the lead with 4.6 to 2.10.
The third term was a stalemate as South struggled to build the lead.
Clay Shadforth proved to be a threat up forward as he saw the breakthrough goal go through just past the eleven-minute mark.
After a quick Central reply, it was Phoenix Hargrave who kept South in front slotting the next major score. Adding to his already immaculate game which saw him end with 25 disposals.
As it unfolded this was the last major score for the Under-18s. What followed in the fourth quarter was a barrage of behinds from both teams.
However, Central managed to do so while adding some major scores early. Leaving the Panthers down despite being in front for most of the game.
It was an interesting game to say the least as both teams struggled to find the goals. South would eventually lose as the game would end at 6.11 to 6.20.
The Under-18s look to get on the board next week against Woodville-West Torrens.

After the close win last week against Norwood spirits were high within the Under-16 group. However, is a long season and the winning efforts of last week needed to be turned towards Central Districts.
The first quarter started off strong for the panthers as Brady McDonald got a hold of the ball and scored the first goal of the game within the first three minutes.
This momentum was quickly shifted to Central’s advantage as they went on to kick the next three major scores.
South had to stop the bleeding and do so quickly, this is where Jacob McGarry came to the rescue as he kicked the Panthers second major score of the quarter. A much-needed reply.
This was shortly ruined as Central kicked a late quarter goal. Leaving the score at 2.1 to 4.1 with South behind heading into the second.
The second term followed a similar theme as South fought hard to not let the lead get away from them. With Thomas Simpson and Brodie Bretones kicking the major scores of the quarter.
Central annoyingly matched these efforts and kicked two of their own.
The third term saw only one major score, this coming from a Central’s boot.
In the lapse Kodah Edwards managed to see plenty of the football alongside Hudson Voigt and Cameron Woods who would all end on 24 disposals each.
The fourth term was a scoring onslaught from both sides, and it seems the tide was about to shift midway through as South kicked three quick goals.
These coming from Patrick Carman, Kodah Edwards, and Brady McDonald.
Even with an extra major score from Noah Kliems Carlaw late in the term it wasn’t enough as Central built a big enough lead.
The boys fought hard but couldn’t get the job done. Next week the Under-16s face Woodville-West Torrens in what is set to be a great game.
