BETTA Teams Selection: Round 6 @ Eagles
The Panthers name another debutant while a key defender notches up 100 SANFL games.
Coming off an extremely disappointing performance against the Redlegs last Friday night, the Panthers will make a number of changes to the side that will face the Eagles.
Key defender and former Magpie, Ben Haren will notch up his 100th SANFL game, having played 14 for Port Adelaide in 2013-2014 before coming across to the Panthers in 2015.
In 2012 Haren was rookied listed by the Sydney Swans, however injury would keep him sidelined meaning he would see no AFL action.
Haren credited former Panthers coach Brad Gotch and CEO Neill Sharpe as the key reasons he decided to move to Flinders University Stadium, along with key connections with captain Matt Rose and Nic Schwarz.
Announced to the playing group last night, Panther Junior and Langhorne Creek product Matt Roberts would be making his League debut against the Eagles on Saturday.
Roberts joins fellow 17-year old Jason Horne as the only two under agers in the league team.
Roberts had another solid performance at Under-18 level on Saturday where he took out the Under-18 SANFL MVP thanks to game high 34 disposals, 3 goals and 9 tackles.
Joining Roberts coming into the league squad is son of a gun Jaidan Kappler, Jesse McKinnon and the man mountain Daniel Nobes.
Meanwhile for the Reserves, they will be looking to keep up the momentum having taken the points over star studded Norwood reserves outfit on Friday night.
Once again the reserves will name a relatively settled line up going into this week's game against the Eagles.
The action kicks off from 11:30am Saturday morning with the Reserves followed by the League at 2:10pm.
