BETTA Teams Selection: Round 11 @ Sturt

The Panthers name two debutantes for Saturday's clash against Sturt.

Having sat on a disappointing effort against Norwood a fortnight ago, the Panthers have made a number of changes.

Amongst these changes is the inclusion of Jake McCreery and Bailey Griffiths who are both set to make their debut.

The 2020 J.L. Brown Trophy (Reserves Best and Fairest) winner McCreery has had a string of strong performances in the reserves so far in 2021, including impacting the scoreboard regularly averaging a goal a game.

Fellow debutant Bailey Griffiths will also make his League debut alongside McCreery.

Standing in at 205cm, the young ruck is the son of dual basketball Olympian Michelle Brogan, and is the nephew of former Panther and Power star Dean Brogan.

Griffiths played for the Oakleigh Chargers, before trying his hand at Basketball.

Having made the move to South Adelaide 2021, Griffiths has averaged 23.8 hit-outs in the Reserves.

Also coming into the extended squad is Darnell Tucker, Luke Bogle and Danny Juckers.

Eamon Wilkinson will return after spending 5 weeks on the sideline with a calf complaint.

Meanwhile there are a few key ins for the Reserves.

Anthony Beimans will return to football for the first time since round 4, which was also against Sturt, having overcome a hamstring injury.

Daniel Sladojevic will play his first game for 2021 after a lengthy period on the sidelines due to a hip issue.

The Panthers and Double Blues have split the last four encounters at two apiece, however it is a different story at Unley Oval with Sturt wining four of the last five.

Please note that the start times has been brought forward to 2:10pm for League and 11:30am for Reserves.
