South Adelaide return to a Preliminary Final for the first time since 2014.

Having got past the Tigers in last weeks elimination Semi Final, the Panthers set their sights on their first Grand Final birth since 1979. 

The Eagles and the Panthers have faced off twice in 2020, with the series being split one a piece. 

They first met in Round 1, where the Panthers got the win thanks to two last quarter goals from debutant Beau McCreery. 

The teams last met in Round 8 where it was a different story, with the Eagles taking a 21-point win. 

Sunday's Preliminary final will be just the third finals meeting between the Panthers and Eagles, with the Eagles taking the First Semi final in 2011 and the Panthers winning the 2014 Elimination Final. 

It's good news for Panthers fans as there are no forced changes to the squad that faced Glenelg on Sunday. 

More importantly the squad of 26 will be bolstered by the inclusions of Tyson Brown, Liam Fitt, Anthony Biemans and Jesse McKinnon. 

The squad of 26 will be cut to 22 before the first bounce on Sunday afternoon. 

There will also be some key match ups such as Paul Hunter against Jarrad Redden in the ruck, and Jack Hayes vs Jake Summerton which should make for some entertaining viewing. 

The Preliminary Final gets underway at 3:15 pm on Sunday afternoon at the home of SA football, Adelaide Oval.
