With trial matches kicking off, SANFL footy edges even closer.

For the Panthers, their first official hit-out comes this Saturday afternoon against the Eagles.

This is a fantastic chance for South Adelaide supporters to get a firsthand look at how the young Panthers are shaping up for the season.

Several fresh faces will take the field in the league side, with recruits Ben Ashley-Cooper, Will Splann, Brad Jefferies, Will McCarthy, and Tom Gillett making their first appearances in Panthers colors.

Returning Panther Luke Bogle will also be back in action, alongside former Sydney Swan and Panthers junior Jaiden Magor.

Additionally, a couple of new names will get their opportunity in the league trial, including former Redleg Nich Weightman, a small defender, and North Launceston’s Sam Foley, who will slot in at half-back.

The action kicks off at 11:30 am with the Reserves, followed by the SANFL match at 2:10 pm.
