2022 SAFC Awards Wrap
Joseph Haines breaks through for his first Knuckey Cup after a great 2022 season, while Nicole Campbell and Gypsy Schirmer take out the 2022 Women's Best and Fairest.
Joining an exclusive club, Joseph Haines takes out the 2022 Knuckey Cup after his best season to date. Haines joins his father Peter who took out the 1971 Knuckey Cup.
Averaging just over 25 disposals a game, Haines was also a key part of the Panthers defence averaging 7 intercept marks a game.
Haines breakthrough season has been some time in the making after finishing in the top three in each of the last three seasons.
Big ruckman Keegan Brooksby finished runner up for the second time as he did in 2018, and defender Oscar Clavarino finished third in his first season at Noarlunga.
Nicole Campbell became the first player to win two Women's Best and Fairest, and the first to do it in back to back seasons. Gypsy Schirmer joined Campbell in winning her first also making it the first time the Panthers have had joint winners.
Campbells remarkable run of consistency continued in 2022 averaging 20 disposals and 8 tackles a game, meanwhile Schirmer had 16 disposals a game in her breakout season.
Aaron Douglass took home the Reserves Best and Fairest and Chloe Jacobs won the inaugural South Adelaide Women's Development Team Best and Fairest.
