Our Under-18s faced off against a very strong Eagles team at home on Saturday, falling by 53 points.
It wasn't a great day for us after having such a big win the week before. We were given a reality check by a team setting themselves for a finals campaign.
Our midfielders were unable to match their opponents for fight and intensity inside the contest and were made to chase and defend far too often.
This put huge pressure on our backs through the volume of possessions the Eagles had between the arcs and going inside 50. Our tall backs did okay in aerial contests, but our smalls were beaten at ground level.
At the other end of the ground, our forwards had to come very high up the ground to win some ball.
When we did get the ball into our attacking 50 we were able to do some damage and our forward 50 KPIs were at a respectable level.
Howeer, we just didn't get enough supply due to our midfield being comprehensively beaten.
Our best player was our young centre half-back Bailey Snelling (pictured above), who is an Under-17 player who is developing nicely.
