The Panthers go Back to Back in the Development League!

The time had finally come it was grand final day and the whole club was buzzing.

All the hard work had led to this game against a strong Glenelg side, the squad was ready for the challenge.

In the first term both sides were playing the pressure game, knowing what was on the line.

The squad was looking silky, and a breakthrough would come 16 minutes into the contest. Seraphina Moon kicking the first major of the big dance after selling some candy and using a bit of classy footwork on the goal line.

It was a testament to the team after battling a whole quarter and keeping the opposition scoreless in the meantime.

The term would end with the Panthers up by 7-points.

During the second quarter the girls put their foot down, making it a task for the opposition to come back.

Abby Woodward would take a strong grab early in the term after a clean stoppage inside the forward fifty. She’d follow up and slot the set shot from 25-metres out.

It wasn’t long before it was back forward and in the hands of Taya Maxwell, after a dominant marking contest 35-metres away from goal she finished her hard work with a major.

The squad would continue to work hard on the defensive end keeping the tigers to nothing. Leading the half by 20-points, sitting in a great spot.

In the third term it became a stalemate with neither side breaking apart from each other.

Zoe Flesfader started to prove her worth during this term as her skills by foot and hand were classy.

Glenelg were struggling to break through the defence all game but during the term finally got on the board with two minor scores.

Headed into the final term the Development Team were up by 19-points.

With everything on the line Glenelg were firing managing to finally score a major, putting the pressure on the squad.

Fortunately, that was all they were able to do in the term, despite the squad being unable to score themselves.

Meaning that the development squad were Premiers once again going back-to-back.
